The Lovers' Tale

What started in Belgium,
continues in Belgium...

Arianna and Lorenz met fortuitously on a night in October 2021. Invited by mutual friends to a birthday in Antwerp, Belgium, it was only a matter of time before "the lawyers" spoke. By morning, Arianna left to catch her plane to begin her post-graduate life in New York City. And so she thought, “that was the last I’ll see of him.”

All the while, Lorenz, a Belgian lawyer working in Brussels, was contemplating his own move to the United States. Seven months later, Lorenz and Arianna reunited at 1221 Avenue of the Americas. Of all the buildings in New York City, Arianna and Lorenz now worked at the same one. And so they thought, perhaps not everything is so fortuitous.

Their tale has continued across the world. After three-and-a-half years of living and traveling between New York City, Miami, and Washington, DC, Arianna and Lorenz have together navigated the obstacles and adventures of new cities and professional opportunities, never losing sight of each other or the life they intended to build, before finally settling in their home in Alexandria, Virginia.

They now wish to celebrate with you in the place where it all began, an ode to the origins of their story, and the country where the groom spent his first 24 years of life. Santé!
